Alpha Tauri

It is with pleasure that The Commercial presents Alpha Tauri, a group exhibition of new and recent works by Francis Carmody, Matthew Harris and Amanda Williams. The exhibition brings together cyclical themes — geomagnetism, astronomies, meteorology and biology — represented in sculpture, painting and photography. The exhibition title refers to one of the brightest stars in the sky that at this time of the year in South-Eastern Australia has its first appearance above the pre-dawn horizon, roughly coinciding with the first frosts and changes in plant and animal behaviour, a marker of seasons.
